Clubs & Meetups
The MCA Chess Club, regular meetups for club members, and a public chess club coming soon to McKinney and North Texas.
The MCA Chess Club —
Where It All Began
Fine Chess Academy launched its first school chess program at McKinney Christian Academy in 2026. This club is more than a game — it's the foundation of something bigger: a thriving, inclusive chess community right here in North Texas.
Every strong community starts somewhere. MCA is ours.
- •A structured, welcoming after-school environment for MCA students to learn and enjoy chess
- •Beginner-friendly through advanced — sessions that meet every student exactly where they are
- •Chess as a tool for building critical thinking, focus, and sportsmanship
- •Hands-on instruction and guidance from FCA — led by a coach with a peak rapid rating of 2297 on Lichess and real competitive tournament experience
- •The launchpad for a broader North Texas chess community — rooted at MCA and expanding from there
